Everything You Need To Know About ‘Double Cleansing’- 

What is double cleansing?

If you’re not sure what we are always on about, double cleansing involves going through two cycles of your cleansing process. 

Your first cleanse is designed to break down any makeup, remove dirt and excess oilers from the day or throughout your sleep and clean your skin. The second cleanse will address your particular skin needs based on your skin type as well as remove anything missing in the first step– granting you gloriously clean skin ready to absorb the next product in your skincare routine. 

Please note your cleanser should have ingredients that hydrate, smooth or exfoliate and treat your skin concerns and your skin shouldn't feel tight or dry after cleansing. 

How do you double cleanse your skin? 

For the first round of cleansing, the aim is to remove as much of your makeup as possible. It’s best to wet your face with lukewarm water, apply 1-2 pumps of the Superfood Gel Cleanser or Calming Cream Cleanser (depending on your skin type) and massage your face in circular motions to remove your makeup. Once you believe all makeup has been lifted off the skin, use a drenched Face Pad to remove the cleanser and makeup from the skin. 

The reason we suggest lukewarm water is because if the water is too hot you could risk irritating the skin which can lead to dryness. 

Once you have removed the surface grime, it is time for your second round of cleansing. Once again wet the skin and fingers, go through with your second cleanse massaging the cleanser into the skin.

Double cleansing is designed to clarify pores, brighten the completion and rejuvenate the skin, ultimately lifting the complexion. It can actually help to prep skin to absorb serums, oils and moisturisers better which will further benefit your makeup application.
