WHY IS MY MINERAL MAKEUP SEPARATING?
Is your foundation separating throughout the day?
Let's talk separation: Foundation will separate for many different reasons- one being when your primer and foundation aren’t working well in harmony together. Think, for instance, how many makeup removers and cleanses are made with oils. Oil breaks down most makeup—and that oil includes the kind that your skin produces.
A good example here is the analogy of mixing oil and water. If you have a water-based primer and an oil-based foundation, they won’t live in harmony on your face.
Sounds interesting? Let’s dive deeper.
Tip 1: It's important to ensure you prep your skin correctly, always allow your moisturiser to absorb before applying your primer this ensures your foundation doesn't stick to your moisturiser which will cause patchy, uneven makeup application. What we all try to avoid right?
Tip 2: Ensure you're using the right tools for your makeup application. Our kabuki brush is dense and designed to break down the minerals in our powder foundations which will allow them to warm and bind correctly to your skin which ensure they don't sit on top of the skin. Cakey makeup, no thanks.
Tip 3: Travel kit anyone? Have your pressed powder foundation and kabuki brush handy in your hand bag for a quick 5 second top up of powder foundation. It only needs to be a quick press of foundation on your nose, chin and t zone area to reset your foundation if you find your an oily skin gal like me. it shouldn't take more than a few seconds and the results speak for themselves, your makeup will look like it was when you left.
Tip 4: Stick to one brand, mixing brands isn't ideal as we are unsure on what ingredients other brands are using. They weren't designed to work together so you'll find they won't.
